Derek Stewart is a co-founder of Community Models. He joined from Amey, where he held Director roles in both their Local Government and Built Environment Divisions.
Derek previously worked in public sector management consultancy for both KPMG and Brodies LLP.
He started his career in local government, working in policy and strategy roles for Chief Executive’s Offices in unitary and district councils.
He also worked for Audit Scotland, producing national guidance on both risk and performance management, and playing a key role in setting up the management arrangements audit framework for local government
Derek has a PhD from the University of Glasgow in the changing relationships between central government, local government and civic society.
